The Amazing Spider man Review | Features and Ratings

Image
Review and General info: The Amazing Spider-Man isn't a great game. Its villains are b-listers, its side missions are repetitive, and its combat/reversal/stealth system is pulled from Arkham City but without the sharp, fluid animations. But here's the most important thing: The Amazing Spider-Man is a fun game. Set as an epilogue to the movie with the same name, The Amazing Spider-Man game will begin ruining plot points for the unreleased film pretty much as soon as you start it up. You find out which main characters lived and died, and a tale centered around the virus that made Curt Connors the Lizard getting released in New York takes off. Through more than 20 missions involving Rhino and the Iguana, you web and wail on bad guys. The movie's actors didn't lend their voices to this game, but the cast that is here is solid and actually delivers some cool moments for fans. Sadly, most of the plot points are ho-hum -- with the exception of a truly fascinating run...

Diablo 3 Review | Blizzard Entertainment

Sins of a Solar Empire | Rebellion review

Image
Sins of a Solar Empire : Rebellion , Too ruggedly professional to die, 2008 sleeper hit Sins of a Solar Empire has returned. Titled Rebellion, this third expansion comes in a new, expandalone format, and adds just about everything except actual rebellion. Silly developers! Sins has aged well, partly because its only competitor, Sword of the Stars II, flopped harder than a snake slipping off a diving board, but also because its appeal is still intact. As you develop your empire, swinging from planet to planet, tumbling down the tech tree, stringing together fleets and levelling up your capital ships, the game simply gives you a bit too much to think about. It’s uncanny. As a beginner, you’ll have your hands (and head) full developing trade routes and continuing the electric push of your culture across the solar system, perhaps with one eye on your prize fleet, making sure it’s still winning some 20-minute pitched battle. But experts will be kept just as busy micromanaging the p...

Hitman Absolution | Review

Image
There's a man – not a very good man – standing in the center of a pagoda-topped gazebo in the middle of Chicago's Chinatown. He's hired police officers to guard him from all angles, but his armor's not without weak points: He likes to eat at a food stand half a block away, he gets drugs from a personal dealer in a nearby apartment, and he drives a luxury car, parked in a side alley. Kill him. The car might be his most obvious weakness, so you, as Agent 47, go exploring around that side alley. There is one off-duty cop guarding the car itself, so with a few stealth moves, you take the cop out silently with a stolen knife and stash his body in a dumpster. For a few extra points on your score, you might also take his uniform, just in case you need it later. With the way clear and your disguise in place, you plant a bomb underneath the car, and once it's all set to blow, bang the hood just hard enough to set the car alarm off. Moving out into the crowds of Ch...
